Flying to Loja
This information is subject to change as the companies often change their schedule.
Loja’ airport is “La Toma” Airport in Catamayo, 30 kms west.
TAME has daily connections from Quito.
From/To Guayaquil, the flights may be canceled for a while, so check on www.tame.com.ec for the schedule before planning your trip;
From the airport, collective taxis, cost $5.00 per person, drive you to Loja Bus station or anywhere in town without extra charge.
We can arrange a taxi ride ($30) from the Airport to the hotel. Ask in advance.

By bus
From main cities in Ecuador and Peru To Loja :
There are several buses a day from / to :
- Quito (12 to 15 hours)with bus companies Cooperativa Loja, Panamericana, Viajeros;
- Cuenca (5 hours approx.) with Viajeros, Santa, San Luis, Cooperativa Loja;
- Guayaquil (9 hours approx.) with Cooperativa Loja or Panamericana;
- Piura, in Peru (8 hours approx.) : From Piura, in northern Peru, it is better to take the new direct bus to Loja, with stopover at the border. This line is operated by the Ecuadorian "Cooperativa Loja Internacional".
For your information, a taxi course in Loja is $1.00 anywhere in town.

From Loja to Vilcabamba
Vilcabamba is served by different bus and taxi companies from Loja;
From the bus station :
- Minibuses “Vilcabambaturis”, 1$, 1h15min, every 30 minutes, from 5am to 8:15pm;
- “Sur Oriente” Buses, 1$, journey of 1h30min, once an hour, from 5am;
- From downtown :
- Taxiruta 11 de mayo, shared taxis, 1,50$, 45 minutes, leave when full (4 passengers).

Once you are in Vilcabamba, you have 5 minutes walking from the bus station to the hotel, or catch a taxi for $1.00 (write pick-ups).
